David Nemiroff, LCSW


David Nemiroff, currently the President and CEO of the Long Island FQHC, Inc. (LIFQHC), was originally appointed as the Executive Director in April, 2014.  Mr. Nemiroff joined the organization in August of 2013 as the Vice President of Care Transitions.  

Mr. Nemiroff has over 25 years of progressive leadership experience in the Health and Human Services field. From 2007 to 2013. Mr. Nemiroff served the Mental Health Association of Nassau County, Inc. as Executive Director. Mr. Nemiroff shared his talents for strategic planning, administration, and strong financial and analytical skills along with his dedication to the consumers and staff.

Mr. Nemiroff worked with government, consumers, advocates and community organizations to help shape public policy to support people with mental illness and autism in the ever changing world of health and human services delivery. Mr. Nemiroff assisted the MHA in adding many new programs and services for the residents of Nassau County.  New endeavors implemented by David Nemiroff ranged from the Veterans Mental Health Alliance of Long Island, residential services for people with autism and mental illness, Health Home Care Management and Education to Crisis Counseling Services for victims of Hurricane Sandy and many more.

Mr. Nemiroff began his professional career in the human services sector. Mr. Nemiroff started in programs for the case management for individuals with traumatic brain injury and intellectual disabilities at Catholic Charities and Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) both Long Island not-for-profit organizations.  During his 14-year career with FREE, Mr. Nemiroff’s continuous promotions within the organization culminated in his final position as Chief Support Services Officer.  

Early in his career, Mr. Nemiroff worked as a staff psychotherapist for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Suffolk County, Inc. He became a Certified Field Instructor for both Social Work and Mental Health Counselor students.    

Mr. Nemiroff is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island, and Board Member of Community Advocates. Mr. Nemiroff, additionally, held board positions with the Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center, liaison with the Mental Health Association of New York State, Advisory Committee Member for the Long Island Behavioral Health Organization (LIBHM).  Mr. Nemiroff has also been a member of the Alliance of Long Island Agencies and Long Island Coalition of Behavioral Health Providers.


Mr. Nemiroff is a Long Island Trustee in the Energeia Partnership, a diverse group of Long Island leaders collaborating to help address this region's most complex issues.  

Mr. Nemiroff is on the Community Advisory Board for the Masters of Public Health Program at Hofstra University. Mr. Nemiroff is a graduate of State University of New York in Oneonta and holds a Masters in Social Welfare from SUNY Stony Brook with an emphasis on planning administration and research.
